We believe that learning experiences for Children are more meaningful when Parents/Carers and Nursery Practitioners work together and build on what Children already know and have accomplished.

FROM THE MOMENT OF BIRTH YOUR CHILD BEGAN A LEARNING JOURNEY.

YOU ARE YOUR CHILD'S FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT TEACHER. TOGETHER WITH THE ROUTINE AND INTERACTION OF OUR TRAINED STAFF, YOUR CHILD WILL CONTINUE TO LEARN, EXPLORE, INVESTIGATE AND ACHIEVE. EXPOSURE TO A VARIETY OF SKILLS, HIDDEN WITH IN PLAY WILL BUILD CONFIDENCE IN ALL ASPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT. OUR AIM IS FOR YOUR CHILD TO BE SCHOOL READY AND ACHIEVE THE BEST POSSIBLE TRANSITION INTO THEIR RECEPTION CLASS.

FREE PLAY      
Sharing, turn taking, fine and large muscle control, imagination, spatial awareness, self-awareness, acceptable behaviour, social skills, co-operative play, freedom of choice, investigation, exploration, creativity, sensory skills, language.

REFRESHMENTS/MEAL TIMES                 Fine motor skills, social behaviour, table manners, hygiene, healthy eating, language development.

CIRCLE TIME      
Listening, turn taking, sharing, self-awareness, self-esteem, confidence, concentration, sequencing, speaking, language, long & short term memory, songs, rhymes and pride at show and tell, and an introduction into understanding our range of emotions and how we can manage them.
                          
ACTIVITIES      
Hand eye co-ordination, fine motor skills, concentration, senses, expression, observation, listening, thinking skills, language, visual/auditory discrimination/ creativity, risk and challenge.

STORY TIME     
Listening, Understanding, thinking, imagining, auditory/visual discrimination, long / short term memory / language.

PERSONAL NEEDS
Safeguarding, Self-awareness, confidence, self-esteem, independence, fine motor skills, language.

PHYSICAL PLAY    
Gross/fine motor skills, self-control, spatial awareness, hand eye co-ordination, concentration, confidence, observation, expression, language, challenge and health and well-being.

ABOVE ALL FUN & ENJOYMENT

Within the framework of EVERY CHILD MATTERS, it is our aim to incorporate all of the above, using the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
